Pluris, LLC (“Pluris”) is expanding its advanced membrane bio-reactor (“MBR”) wastewater treatment facility in Onslow County, North Carolina to meet growth demand in a fast growing area of Onslow County. The initial MBR facility was completed in 2012 and due to residential and commercial growth, the second phase is doubling the treatment capacity. Additional phases will be added as growth continues to insure treatment capacity into the future. North Carolina Manager Mr. Hoffer recently commented,
“We are excited about the growth in the area and the need for increasing the plant capacity. Kubota membranes have demonstrated to offer stable performance characteristics and better operating conditions. As with other Pluris MBR facilities in North Carolina, ongoing challenges with the prior manufacturer membranes, prompted a review of other manufacturers.”
After an extended period of side by side operating comparison between Microdyne and Kubota membranes, Randy selected Kubota membranes for the 1 mgd treatment facility in Onslow County. All membranes are onsite and will be installed the first week in January.
