Pluris Hampstead, LLC (“Pluris”) is expanding its advanced membrane bio-reactor (“MBR”) wastewater treatment facility in Pender County, North Carolina to meet growth demand in the fast growing area of southeastern North Carolina. The initial phase for the MBR facility was completed in 2015 and due to residential and commercial growth, the second phase is doubling the treatment capacity. Additional phases will be added as growth continues to insure treatment capacity into the future.
In addition to the expansion, Pluris elected to move to Kubota membranes, replacing former Microdyne membranes in order to advance operating features. North Carolina manager, Randy Hoffer made the decision based on side by side historical performance of both manufacturers’ membranes.
Mr. Hoffer commented,
“The Kubota membranes offer greater performance characteristics and better operating conditions. We were observing challenges with the Microdyne membranes that we did not see with the Kubota membranes and since the conversion, I am pleased with the decision, and Pluris will be converting all of our North Carolina facilities to Kubota membranes. The conversion at Hampstead was seamless and Kubota’s representatives were actively involved in the conversion.”
