New Water Softening Infrastructure Improvements
Pluris Wedgefield is pleased to announce completion of the water softening infrastructure improvements at the Water Treatment Facility. Although hardness is not regulated by the Federal EPA or the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, many customers have asked if the historically high hardness of Wedgefield water could be addressed further. The hardness of the raw water has ranged between 12 to 15 grains per gallon). Pluris Wedgefield is now delivering water to our valued customers with a hardness treatment limit set at 2.5 grains per gallon. Presented below is a photograph of the addition of the 4 train system.

Pluris Wedgefield customers who have in-home water softeners may want to re-evaluate the need for in home softeners following the improvements at the Water Treatment Facility. Water hardness below 1 grain per gallon hardness, combined with certain materials in plumbing fixtures could potentially create a corrosive environment, in plumbing pipes and fixtures such as faucets and shower heads.
