Pluris Wedgefield (“Pluris”) is pleased to announce that the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (“FDEP”) has issued the final permit for Pluris’ new chlorine dioxide treatment facility at the drinking water treatment plant in Wedgefield. The FDEP issued its findings in a March 6, 2018 letter to Florida Regional Manager, Joseph M. Kuhns. An excerpt from the FDEP letter is presented here.
“This letter acknowledges receipt of the certification, dated March 1, 2018, for the subject water treatment plant modification. The submitted information demonstrates the water treatment plant modification has been constructed in accordance with the FDEP Permit Number above and related plans and materials and that satisfactory pressure and bacteriological tests were conducted in accordance with the AWWA standards. Based on the certification, inspection of the system on February 21, 2018, and satisfactory bacteriological results, the Department is clearing the system for service”.
The final permit is the result of a pilot study that began in March 2017 and successfully ended 12 months later in March 2018 with the issuance of the permit clearance.
Presented in the following table are the results of TTHM testing from March 2017, when Chlorine Dioxide was first introduced and continuing to be phased in during the pilot study, with the latest analytical laboratory results at conclusion of the pilot study on December 21, 2017.
