Marcia Hamilton, a native of North Carolina, has been a customer of Pluris since she and her husband Keith purchased their first home on North Topsail Beach in 2001. They became permanent residents of the area in 2003 when Marcia retired from nursing. The couple eventually decided to sell their home on the Island and built a home on the mainland in Sneads Ferry where they reside today.
Pluris Regional Manager Randy Hoffer and Customer Care Director Beverly Yopp recently had the pleasure of visiting with Marcia at Pluris’ local customer walk-in office in Sneads Ferry. During the visit Marcia shared in late spring Pluris had to do a repair in the vicinity of her yard and was very pleased with how the job was handled. She commented, “the Pluris technician overseeing the work was easy and pleasant to work with and went out of his way to make sure I understood what the problem was and how it would be remedied. He’s a real asset to your organization.”
Marcia grew up in Greensboro where she attended The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and earned her Bachelor’s degree, continuing on to earn a Master’s degree in Counseling and then a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. While in graduate school Marcia worked as a substitute teacher and upon graduation even worked for a construction company that built power plants before beginning her nursing career. It was during her job with the construction company that she met her husband Keith.
Marcia loves the Sneads Ferry community and people and it shows in her involvement throughout the years she has lived in the area. Marcia’s activities include the Sneads Ferry Historical Society, Community Theatre and ministries at the Sneads Ferry Presbyterian Church where she attends. She is also an avid Mahjong player and is part of the North Shore Mahjong Club that meets weekly.
North Carolina Regional Manager, Randy Hoffer said, “as a long time native of the Sneads Ferry area myself, Marcia and Keith are typical of the community of people who call the area home, and Pluris staff find working with all of the area customers rewarding.”
