Pluris begins construction on newest advanced Membrane Bio-Reactor (“MBR”) Wastewater Treatment Facility in North Carolina

August 2019

Pluris Webb Creek, LLC has begun construction on its new MBR wastewater treatment facility near Jacksonville, North Carolina. The new MBR plant will replace a failing 40 year old plant that had some 500 environmental violations issued by the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (“NCDEQ”) since 1995 and poses threats to the environment as well as human health risks. The new plant will be Pluris’ third MBR facility in North Carolina and presently planned to begin operations this coming summer in June, 2020.

The NCDEQ has continually expressed its support of Pluris’ advanced MBR wastewater treatment in protecting the environment. Former Senior Environmental Engineer with NCDEQ Jim Bushardt, PE stated, “Pluris’ MBR treatment facilities represent the highest level of wastewater treatment in the state of North Carolina”.
