Pluris invited to Provide Advanced Wastewater Treatment in Northeastern New Hanover County by Cape Fear Public Utilities Authority

December 2022

Pluris has been invited to provide advanced membrane bioreactor (“MBR”) wastewater treatment in a New Hanover County area, across the county border with Pender County. Cape Fear Public Utilities Authority (“CFPUA”) provides wastewater treatment for all New Hanover County.

In the meantime, CFPUA has cleared Bill Clark Homes to receive wastewater treatment from Pluris. The home builder has approval for a residential community in the area from the New Hanover County TRC.

In addition, the CFPUA welcomed Pluris intercepting all sewer flow from Rocky Point, just north of Wilmington in Pender County in the future.

Pluris recently expanded its advanced MBR wastewater treatment facility in Pender County to address growth in the area and looks forward to meeting demand for growth related to the I-40 By-pass presently under construction. The I-40 By-pass is expected to reduce traffic along the Highway 17 corridor for commuters working in Wilmington.

Pluris produces the highest quality treated wastewater in the state and is proud of its MBR facilities in protecting the environment, particularly
in the sensitive intercoastal waterways along the coast.

The photograph shows fresh water fish within a fish tank with the water being the wastewater treated by Pluris’ advanced membrane bioreactor wastewater treatment facility in Hampstead. No additives are used. The treated effluent continuously flows through the fish tank.

Pluris engineers believe the fish tanks with treated effluent demonstrate commitment to sustainable growth while protecting the environment.

Anyone desiring to tour any of the MBR facilities in North Carolina may contact Mr. Kris King at Pluris at [email protected] to arrange a visit.
